Just a fleeting thought...
Is it in the power of the people to have Mr Mah Bow Tan removed from his post of MND seeing as we are a democratic nation?
The public housing situation is really absurd. 6 times over-subscribed with another half of the balloting period to run. Best of all, as if to to scorn his claims that Singaporeans are too picky and not willing to live in new and ulu estates, there is currently; [SEE LINK]
1) 26 times oversubscription for Sengkang 4-room flats
2) 15 times oversubscription for Sengkang 5-room /executive flats
3) 8 times oversubscription for Punggol 4-room flats
4) 19 times oversubscription for Punggol 5-room flats
5) 16 times oversubscription for Sembawang 4-room flats
6) 22 times oversubscription for Sembawang 5-room/executive flats
Heck, even Woodlands 4 roomers are 29 times oversubscribed at this time of writing...and this kind of take up rate is happening despite about 11% inflation in the prices of the flats released AFTER A MERE 4 months from the last half-annual sale.
I nearly threw my shoes onto the PC screen when I saw Mah appear on RazorTV news saying there are enough flats again.
Even the Straits Times is telling MBT he is in denial:

They did not even try to spin the story much.
If anyone wants to donate old shoes please let me know. I will be happy to throw them for you. Mine are branded and not worth throwing on them.
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope the Opposition Parties will throw MBT out of the windows in the upcoming erection. Singaporeans have had enough of his nonsense.
ReplyDeleteAs long as MBT is making tons of money for the government, they will never remove him.
ReplyDeleteBlame those who are living in Tampines lor.
ReplyDeleteHi Fievel, Mr Mah said that people applying for BTO flats will mostly have no difficulty getting them. This is different from the example of Sale of Balance Flats that you have used here. Is Mr Mah's statement therefore actually justified?
ReplyDeleteIf public housing comes with a 3 year wait, then the system might be better served with no one single organization having the monopoly on supply, thereby pushing up prices due to a supply choke, then thereafter offering a "subsidy" off the market rates.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, the BTO flats in Punggol were 7x oversubscribed as well.
Yeah I agree with you this guy should be eradicated from MND! He has even mercilessly, pegged the poor and elderly one roomers rent on market rates. Based on a combined salary of $800/- and above. He does not take into account of the elderly medical expenses, food and transport and the pittance salary earned by the duo elderly occupants of a one room rented flat.Sadly, do we unmarried senior citizens, who built Singapore to what it is today. To be treated, by struggling even longer hours of hard work to pay market price to MAH the gobbler!SAVE THE SOUL OF THE ELDERLY SINGAPOREAN.
